WAIALUA SUGAR MILL AERIAL 1940? 20X30 INCH BLACK & WHITE TO GICLEE PHOTO

$ 23.76

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

This is a nice, fairly sharp non-mass produced 20 x 30 inch (
with narrow white margin as part of the print, ***not seen here
) giclee black and white print unmounted, from an original aerial photograph
of the Waialua Sugar Plantation mill and Waialua Town on the north shore of Oahu, not sure of date, 1930's to 40's? The mill was established in the 1880’s and closed in 1997 when the sugar industry economy could no longer sustain the operation. It was one of the larger plantations on Oahu.
It was
shot with a professional copy stand and equipment on black and white negative film, a master print was made, and was scanned and printed using the digital process and printed on long lasting Epson lustre professional paper with archival ink. The photo is shipped in a shipping tube by USPS.
Included is a separate caption label with specific information about the photo that can later be displayed separately with the print or affixed to the back. This print when nicely framed sells for 0-450 at retail locations.
***Please note:
It is also grainy as the original was shot on older black and white film,  printed with a b&w internegative, and scanned. When enlarged it is a little less sharper,
it is still a beautiful historic and artistic image and would look good in a public area.
It would make a great birthday or holiday gift for someone who likes this area or historic sugar images of Hawaii. They are popular reasonably priced decorations for restaurants, offices, homes, or stores where people can see them.

The photos are popular with local people in Hawaii, and are often hard to find images obtained from various sources. Our prices makes them an affordable quality alternative to purchasing originals, many of which are often almost impossible to obtain, and prints this size in a nice frame sell for several hundred dollars at locations in Hawaii. For the most impressive display of these 20 x 30 inch prints we recommend a 30 x 40 inch frame with a custom cut mat like the example in the second photo here. They also look good mounted on foam board, or with a standard 20x30 inch frame. We include a separate information sheet with tips and suggestions about handling and mounting.
Please note
that this photo was copied from the original. It may have dust marks, scratches, light and dark areas, and other imperfections that were on the original that you may not be able to see here. When possible we try to remove major imperfections and clean them up before printing and we try to dodge, burn, crop, and contrast correct them. Sometimes they look better than the original. Be aware that it was shot on older grainy black and white film and when enlarged will look grainier and not quite as sharp as the large thumbnails in this listing. When first evaluating the image, we recommend that the viewer step back about five to ten feet to get the maximum visual impact. It does look great, (less grainy and sharper) a few feet away in a hallway, or larger rooms like restaurants or public places. Some people like them that way because they look more authentic or nostalgic. Also be aware that the tonal range and contrast you may see here may not look exactly the same on the print we're selling because of your individual computer screen brightness settings. We want to make sure you know exactly what you are buying so we hope our thorough description of these photos will answer all your questions before you purchase. We've never had any complaints.
