    What Chinese people used this for? Many years ago before we have Tupperware or all kinds of plastic storage containers for our food. This basket was made to put a dish, a bowl with food inside. The farmer’s wife will put food inside and carry it to a rice field to give to her husband. Also between neighbors that people used this basket to transfer food.
    You can use it for decoration. I like its look that it shows its age.
