    Very Large, Polished Arizona Petrified Wood Round-End Cut
    Araucaria
    Chinle Formation
    Triassic
    This round is from the Rainbow Beds, near the Petrified Forest, in the vicinity of Holbrook, Arizona.
    Largest Width:      Approximately  14 1/2 inches
    Largest Height:     Approximately  11 inches
    Thickness:            This is an end cut, but it is mostly flat and about 1 1/4 inches thick.   At the very bottom, right, of the second photo, a small area is about 3/4 inch thick, but quickly becomes about 1 1/4 inches thick as you move 1 1/2 inches inward from the edge. At about 9:00 o'clock, there is another small area which is thin, but it also becomes about 1 1/4 inch thick as you move inward about 1 1/2 inches from the edge.
