    CHINESE EXPORT SILVER EGG CRUET SET    c1830 MAKER P - RARE
    A very fine and rare c1830 Chinese export silver egg cruet set.
    From the Canton work shop of maker P.
    Forbes notes that this maker is one of the
    most rare of all CES work shops.
    Most museum collections do not display an example from this shop.
    A nearly identical egg cruet set by Woshing c1840 is illustrated and
    discussed in Forbes Figure 168.
    This c1830 CES egg cruet set is 8 inches tall and 7 1/2 across and
    the cups 2 3/4 inches the complete set is 32 standard ounces
    Hallmarked as shown.
    Marks well struck.
    The identical mark illustrated
    and discussed in Crosby Forbes.
    The spoons are Georgian period sterling, with same fiddle and shell pattern, not CES
    In very fine condition.
    Rich sterling patina.
    Retains original detail.
    One egg cup silver plate associated.
