Antique Chinese Rectangular Wood Food Carrier with 2 Tiers and a lid.
This rectangular stacking antique Chinese wood food box has a separate frame with a raised handle for carrying.
The food carrier includes 2 wood boxes with a wood lid. Each box has metal corners that act as reinforcement. There are a series of round head fasteners that are spaced along the metal corners that are also decorative.
The removable wood lid also has the decorative metalwork on the edges.
The antique Chinese food carrier sets into a wood frame with a raised handle. The vertical parts of the handle have fancy shaped supports to strengthen the handle. The top of the wood handle has a nice humpback shape to it. The handle has more decorative metal supports with round head nails to strengthen the joints.
This food carrier is very decorative piece and is finished in a dark brown lacquer.

Measures Approx. 19″ Wide x 10″ Deep at base, 16″ Tall to top of handle. The boxes measure approx: 17″ x 8″ x 10-1/2 Tall when stacked up.
Circa 1900, late Qing Dynasty.
