MITSUBISHI MONTERO - Crankshaft Washer
Fits 94-2006 Mitsubishi Monteros (Pajero, Shogun): 3.0L (built after June 94), 3.5L, and 3.8L.
Brand new condition - Genuine Mitsubishi Part, Made in Japan - not an aftermarket reproduction. Shipped from the USA, not overseas.
This is a critical part that must be replaced on every Montero because the original bolt design was defective and would often back out & break, ruining the crankshaft and possibly other engine components in the process. The updated Genuine Mitsubishi Crankshaft Bolt fixes that problem and should be installed with a new washer.
***We HIGHLY recommend that the original Crankshaft Washer be replaced at the same time as the Crankshaft Bolt*** The original washer might be the same size depending on the year of your vehicle but it could have slight bending or micro fractures in it from years of heat, and use, and being torqued to 140 ft lbs.

Note - One side of the washer has a bevel around the inner hole, this should be installed towards the head of the crankshaft bolt.
How can you tell if you have the original defective crankshaft bolt?
Easy, the original bolt was much longer so if your existing crankshaft bolt head sits almost flush with the end of the pulley then you have the original one that needs to be replaced. This new revised bolt sits much deeper inside the pulley so if you reach your hand down and feel a bolt right at the edge on the inside of the pulley, that is the old one (see photo for reference).
